C Major Diatonic C4-C6

We’ve taken the humble Marimba, given it a twist and lifted it up onto the wall.

The notes of the Wall Marimba are made from polished GRP and when hit with one of the attached beaters make a very characteristic, distinct sound. The GRP is made to look like our favourite hardwood – purple heart – it’s also extremely strong and robust and virtually maintenance free.

The Wall Marimba is tuned to the C-Major Diatonic Scale covering two octaves from C4-C6. The chimes are mounted using the new universal wall mounting brackets which can be used on virtually any surface

Wall mounted outdoor musical instruments such as the Wall Marimba provide the perfect solution to liven up a difficult or overlooked area and work well where there is limited space available such as courtyards, covered patios and other outdoor structures or classrooms.

Did you know? The word Marimba is formed from ma ‘many’ and rimba ‘single-bar xylophone’

C Major Pentatonic (A2-D5)

Our Akadinda is inspired by a traditional xylophone originating in Africa and is perfect for outdoor musical play.

This enormous instrument can accommodate up to four players and is ideal for bringing people together for impromptu performances.

Great fun to play with huge resilient notes made from hardwood which gives a natural mellow, low tone, tuned to the pentatonic scale in C major A2-D5. Because it’s so large, it’s loud!

Traditionally the base of an Akadinda was made from banana stems. With a lack of banana stems available (!) our frame is made of a treated timber suitable to be installed into the ground or surface mounted.

The Akadinda is perfect for improvising and experimenting with music whilst being in the fresh air.

C Major Pentatonic (C3-C5)

Our Grand Marimba is an outdoor musical instrument popular with Schools and Playground Designers alike.

This is a substantial outdoor musical instrument that produces a strong, deep, resonant sound – perfect as school playground equipment, for music therapy sessions and creative playgrounds.

The notes used on the Grand Marimba are made of hardwood and are equipped with individual resonator tubes on the underside. The resonator reflects and projects the sound back to the player resulting in more volume and a brighter sound. No wires or strings, each note is individually and securely attached to the resonators for maximum vibration with incredible tones and resonance.

In order to make the instrument accessible to all, the height, angle and space underneath of the instrument are such that a wheelchair user can enjoy playing the instrument comfortably.

The Grand Marimba is tuned to the C-Major pentatonic scale making it very easy and enjoyable to play.

The stylish contemporary stainless steel frame is suitable for ground or surface fixing.

C Major Diatonic (C3-C5)

The fifteen chunky notes are supported by heavy duty stainless steel cable and made from Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic, tuned to the diatonic scale of C-Major. When hit with the attached beaters they make a mellow, warm rich sound. The GRP is made to look like our favourite hardwood – Purple Heart – it’s also extremely strong and robust and virtually maintenance free.
